The issue with the title displaying "Lettuce Battle" instead of "Lobster Battle" has been fixed. (thx tom)

This is my favorite episode ever. Is there a way to get this episode in better video quality? This file has one of the poorer video qualities that I've seen from here.

I love Ron!

This episode is the one that turned me onto Iron Chef - it was big news in San Francisco, where I lived at the time. I managed to get reservations at Ron\'s restaurant, Charles Nob Hill, with three family members. Hands down the most amazing meal any of us had ever had. He\'s now running the dining room at the Ritz Carlton and has catapulted it into one of the top-starred restaurants nationwide. What a talent!

Will he be back?

Wow, what an episode! Probably one of the most hyped ever, especially in the San Francisco area, with its thousands of Iron Chef fans. Seigel certainly had a ton of people rooting for him. He and Sakai did an excellent job with the theme, Canadian lobsters. (why not just use local ones?) As Kanoh mentioned, it really came down to personal preference, which is the way it always should be. (if you like close battles, that is...)

At the end of the battle, Ron said during a post-show press conference conducted by Japanese and American press that he'd like to go up against another Iron Chef; just one of the things that made this episode unique. I didn't realize at the time of the original airing, but that was probably KTSF episodes of the show he was watching, so he was very familiar with everything beforehand. Must've been nice to be endorsed by the mayor, too. You can tell this episode meant a LOT to a LOT of people. :)
